ClassKick: Monitoring student work on the go!
ClassKick is an app that allows a teacher to monitor their students work online at any time; it allows them to share assignments and give feedback on the students work. Once a teacher first opens the app, they are greeted with two introduction videos that will walk them through the several features within the app. Once the user has finished getting to know the app, they may create a class roster for monitoring students as well as they will receive a code used for students to join the class. Once a teacher creates an assignment using the "Add Assignment" button, the user may upload images, text, or links that can be viewed by all the students. The students can then add their own images, text, or links to complete the assignment. Students may also virtualy raise their hand indicating they need help. The teacher will be able to view this and help the student 1 on 1. Teachers can view the assignments from students in real time and may give feedback straight on the assignment or using a sticker off the side. Teachers may also award points directly on the assignment.
ClassKick has a user-friendly easy-to-use interface that is perfect for any teacher who wants to stay organized without carrying around stacks of paper. Everything the teacher needs is ready online and can be accessed at anytime as long as they have internet access. ClassKick works best on Wifi which might discourage teachers who don't have access to or have slow Wifi. ClassKick can not only be used at home for assigning homework, but is great for in class use because of the virtual hand-raising feature. For example, a teacher may monitor their students work in class whether solo or in groups making sure the student stays on track. This is a great way for students to closely interact and acquire help from their teachers on any assignment. This app may be used in a variety of subjects including foreign language as ClassKick allows students to record and upload their voice making it useful for students to practice their speaking. This app is great for any subject that uses paper assignments from math to english and anything in between. Students can view each others work and work with each other to give ideas or discuss the topic.

Virtual Reality!
10-19-15
For my first app review, I was assigned to research and use the app Aurasma with my partner. "Aurasma" is an augmented reality app available for platforms including: Iphone, Ipad, Android, and PC. With Aurasma, one can scan a poster, chart, etc... and a pre-recorded video will be able to be viewed, this video can explain the poster or teach anything one can think of. I was blow away by this apps capabilities! As the app launched in 2011, Aurasma has received over 20, 000 partners and operates in over 100 countries worldwide.
Aurasma is very easy to use given its simplicity and efficiency. Once one opens the app, they are prompted to make a free account with Aurasma, this allows the user to view and create their own "auras" which is a nickname for your virtual realty presentation. This app could easily and effectively be used in a classroom setting to make presentations and to include easy to use technology in a classroom setting. This app is highly motivating for students as well. I was engaged with the app the second I placed my hands on it. The finished product can be easily shared either publicly or privately with whomever you want. If set to public, it can be easily shared through email or social media. This app allows students to collaborate with their classmates to create an "aura" as well as allows students to import previously recorded content to create their own virtual reality presentation. Aurasma could be used in almost every subject not including Health/PE. This app is designed to help students: collaborate with their peers, remember information, analyze information, present information, and create some sort of product that can be viewed publicly or privately.
On the contrary, this app as most apps, has its flaws. The first time I uploaded a video to turn into virtual reality, the file size was too large so the video turned out very blurry and unprofessional. I had to use a third party app to compress the video so it looks professional. If you buy an upgraded account for Aurasma, then it allows you to create larger and more impressive "auras", this is an incentive for you to buy the premium account.
Overall Rating:✭✭✭✭ - Very Good
