Since we live in a world surrounded by technology, one of the most important skills a student can learn is how to be an exceptional digital citizen. Being a "digital citizen" does not simply mean someone who can use the internet, rather a person that can effectively distinguish between credible and deceptive sources as well as picking the most credible evince to use as sources. This brings up another question which is ethics; a large part of being an exceptional digital citizen is having good etiquette on the web which includes being respectful to others as well as being careful of what personal information one gives out. Furthermore, navigating cyber bullying, privacy, as well as safety on the web is challenging for schools to teach as well as students to learn. But technology such as what I have written about here has allowed for easy learning of this tricky concept in a fun and engaging way that allows students to become digital citizens in our 21st century world encumbered by technology. As part of the Help Desk team, it is essential for us to be exceptional digital citizens and a positive role model for others around us which means completing digital citizenship training. To complete our training, we completed all four units of digital citizenship training from common sense education. Our training was split up into four units, each covering a seprate concept of digital citizenship with an assesment at the end to test our knowledge.
